Underbelly Protection

The C-130 Hercules can be operated and parked in the most challenging of environments increasing the risk of Foreign Object Damage (FOD) to the aircraft. The good news is that the risk by FOD can be minimised by applying a protective polyurethane layer in damage prone areas such as the fuselage underbelly, landing gear doors, antennas, leading edges and other areas. The protective layer forms a tough durable barrier that can reduce maintenance costs by preventing FOD that otherwise may cause skin defects and damaged components and in the worst case, result in the grounding of the aircraft until repairs are carried out.
