Graduating with honours

The Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group Apprenticeship Scheme continues to go from strength to strength, with 15 graduating after four years and entering the next phase of their career with us.

Today we celebrated the success of the 2019 graduates with the entire four-year cohort of more than 80 young apprentices and their trainers and managers at a ceremony held in the business.

As well as honouring the 15 graduates, there were also awards given to outstanding apprentices for Best Achiever and Top Apprentice in each of the four year groups.

Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group CEO, Alistair McPhee, and Marshall Group Vice Chairman, Robert Marshall, made the presentations and both said how impressed they were with the quality of the candidates and how they are fundamental to the success of our business.

Alistair said:

"What you are doing is really worthwhile. Whether you are working on a C-130, a special missions aircraft, a military container or a pilot’s helmet, you are all helping in our primary purpose to protect people in critical situations,"

Earlier this month we welcomed 24 new apprentices. We receive dozens of applicants for each place on our apprenticeship scheme, which next year will have been running continuously for 100 years.

"You are all part of an important legacy, and fundamental to our future. We hope your energy and enthusiasm will help us move forward for the next 100 years,"

said Alistair.

All 15 of this year’s graduates have been offered, and accepted, roles to continue in the business.
