Integrated Logistics Support

Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) is a disciplined and structured approach to defining and preparing support solutions for a system. It is based around a set of processes and requirements outlined in Defence Standard 00-60 and builds upon established, common-sense engineering principles that have been long embedded in the way we work.

The aim of ILS is to maximise operational performance and to ensure that required availability levels are sustained throughout the life of the system at an optimum cost of ownership. Considering system supportability from the very earliest stages of the product life cycle ensures the most effective support solution is achieved. Our dedicated ILS team uses all the latest tools and techniques to undertake all elements of the ILS package.

Maintenance planning begins early in the product acquisition process with development of the maintenance concept derived from Level of Repair Analysis (LORA). Our in-house Human Factors Integration (HFI) expertise is applied to ensure optimised man-machine interfaces. Training requirements for the system operating and support personnel are developed through detailed training needs analysis. We can deliver training solutions directly or often on a ‘train the trainer’ basis.

The experience and specialist knowledge of the ILS team is enhanced by the latest reliability, logistic support analysis and technical authoring software tools. The team has successfully completed both public and private sector projects in many diverse technologies, operating environments and markets.
